Three Lions Clubs Helped Fund New Reading Equipment in Dauphin County Library

Three Lions Clubs banded together to raise funds for new, high-tech vision-assistance equipment at the East Shore Area Library. The Lower Paxton Lions Club, Lower Paxton Township Lioness Lions Club, and West Hanover Lions Club raised $3,700 with their combined effort, which paid for all the equipment.

Ford City Lions Club(District 14-N) has recently received a matching project grant for $5498.00 from the Lions of Pennsylvania Foundation to assist with the purchase of up to 12 historical markers along the section of the Rails to Trails path bordering the community of Ford City, Armstrong County. The Butler Lions Club was happy to donate $6,000 to the Moniteau School District to help build a greenhouse in the High School’s courtyard so that students can grow food which will be donated to the Moniteau-Concord Food Pantry. This donation was made possible through a grant from the Lions of Pennsylvania Foundation. The Chippewa Area Lions Club recently received a matching grant from the Lions of Pennsylvania Foundation for $1300 for the purchase and placement of eight benches in the three local Chippewa Area Community Parks,Beaver County. Foundation board member ,PDG Don Gibala, presented a check from the Foundation for $1,219 to DG Gaylene Toland for the purchase of Nebula Capsule Smart Wi Fi Portable Mini Projectors and Screens. The equipment will give access and use to all Lions and Clubs throughout the 5-county District 14-N for training , education, and community service presentations.

Ellwood city Lions Club receives grant to upgrade local community park shelter. West Goshen Lions Club, West Chester Lions Club, and Coatesville Area Lions Club donated $3,500.00 to the $6,975.00 grant for the industrial sewing machine project. The profits from the production and packaging help to support the 470 people we serve.

They are under the National Industries for the Blind which is under the Ability One Commission. They sell 14 products that meet their specifications. Five products require the bartacking machine. Bartacking is a step in the production of all the pot holders, oven mitts, and dust mitts they sew at CCABVI.

The Lions of PA Foundation is a Pennsylvania-focused organization that helps find and gather the financial and social resources to provide vision aid and hearing aid to local people, fund community projects, and serve the local PA communities, all while serving as a way to donate to local Lions Clubs while still getting to deduct that from your taxes! We serve Pennsylvania’s local and community needs by providing finances and resources they require, as well as supporting organizations and projects statewide.
